Angela Anderson is an artist from Russellville, Arkansas, USA.  She grew up in Palm Springs, California and moved to Arkansas in 1991 after graduating college with an Honors Art Degree from Arizona Western College in Yuma.
Although grounded in the basics of art through her studies, Angela went on to develop her own self-taught style of painting with acrylics.  She pursued decorative arts for several years before returning to fine arts in 2004 after a trip to France.

Angela participates in several regional art shows & competitions each year.  She has work represented at galleries throughout Arkansas and Oklahoma.  Her artwork is collected by businesses and patrons from several states including New York, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, New Hampshire, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, and California.  Most recently, she was selected for inclusion in the 2009 Arkansas Artist Calendar published by the Governor's Mansion Association.

She and her husband, Mark, have three boys.  Painting has given her the opportunity to work from home which she finds very rewarding.   She is also active in the women's and fine arts ministries at their church, Fellowship of Christians.

Paris 2004 ~ Amazing!!!

Inspiration for my paintings come from many things; music, a favorite movie, planting in my garden, childhood memories, walks in the woods. I love bold, graphic images with strong colors and elements of light and dark.  Mood and color, contrast and harmony, simplicity and joy of discovery characterize my paintings.  I pursue beauty through my art. Sometimes that plays out in abstract colors and shapes, and other times I like to be grounded in reality.

Impressionist art has always had a huge influence on my artistic expression, and though my own paintings have a more realistic feel, I enjoy leaving visible brush strokes and blurred edges to give a soft, painterly quality to my pieces. My faith in God is a very important part of my life and it greatly inspires my approach to art. I feel that painting is a gift through which I can reflect just a fleeting glimpse of the beauty of our creator.
